It all began with one man, one client, and a vision.
In 1938, William M. Brooker founded Brooker Insurance Agency with a philosophy of providing his customers the highest quality insurance and exceptional customer service. In 1989, the agency broke ground on the future site of The Brooker Building atop a hill at 10749 Pearl Road in Strongsville, Ohio. One year later, it opened its doors to welcome clients to the new home of Brooker Insurance.
In 2007, Brooker Financial Corp. was founded after Malcolm Brooker (grandson of William Brooker) learned that his clients desired a full service mortgage company with professionals they could trust. Brooker Financial was later renamed Brooker Mortgage and still proudly serves residents and businesses across Ohio in all areas of mortgage lending. In 2012, Brooker Transportation was founded as the newest agency within the Brooker Family of Businesses. Mr. Brooker knew that transportation businesses required highly specialized insurance coverages and transportation risks can be very complex to understand, so he created an agency to specifically meet the needs of that industry.
Even outside of the Brooker businesses, there has been growth as we have added other agencies to our family over the years.

In 2017, Brooker partnered with Gulick Roberts Agency in Madeira, Ohio. In 2019, The Pelorus Brooker Insurance Agency was established, and later that same year Brooker purchased The LeSourd & Company Insurance Agency in Xenia, Ohio.
We continue to be successfully guided by the same enduring philosophy of our founder four generations later. Under the current leadership of our President, Malcolm Brooker, Jr., integrity and great service have remained the cornerstones of our businesses. We are pleased to have earned the trust of our clients, many who have remained with our agency across generations.

The brick colonial on Pearl Road still remains home to three of the Brooker businesses to this day: Brooker Insurance, Brooker Transportation, and Brooker Mortgage. With a gold eagle at the top of its roof guiding the way, the beauty of the Cleveland Metroparks to the rear, and surrounded by magnolia trees on all sides, the Brooker Building is a classic icon in the Strongsville community.
